Fun Day with Girls!!

Yesterday I had such a great day. A friend from work treated me to fun as a congratulations for graduating. I started out by riding our light rail system into the city, and I just have to say this is the only way to go into Seattle anymore. It saves on the hassle & cost of parking.

We started out by visiting a historic hotel in Seattle's International District for tea. The hotel used to house many Japanese immigrants, Alaska Fisherman and international travelers. They were best known for their soaking tubs. It was a luxury to be able to take a bath in those days. The presentation and atmosphere was spectacular, and I really enjoyed exploring something new and learning a little more history about our city.

Afterwards we walked back uptown to the Seattle Art Museum. They are currently featuring a full exhibit on Michelangelo. We walked through looking at all of the exhibits, some were really beautiful and some were terrible (at least to me :) but it was great to see so many people, children included, enjoying the museum.

While the husbands were having poker night, I spent the evening with Nicole watching girl movies and eating Ivars clam chowder and grilled cheese at her house. Total comfort in all aspects!!!

  2. I'm glad that you got to have a girls night out (or a girls day out). Seems like it was very much needed and that you had a fun time. That is always the best!

And to end with grilled cheese sandwiches? Ahhh, nothing gets better than that!
